Job Summary
Provide front desk assistance, answer phone calls, and guide clients to appropriate services. Distribute mail, manage case transfers, and schedule appointments while issuing EBT cards and checks. Review applications and documentation for completeness, then document all interactions through the ONE, TRACS, and OACCESS systems. Maintain an organized lobby and use computer databases to manage agency information. This role supports the Oregon Department of Human Services in delivering equitable public benefit services to a diverse population.
Required Qualifications
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Two years of experience working in a reception area or call center either interviewing to obtain information or providing customer service
- An associate degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science or a closely related field
- Six months of experience working in a busy reception area or call center either interviewing to obtain information or providing customer service
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience relative to the class concept
- Experience accurately handling large volumes of work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines
- Experience explaining complex information in a clear and understandable way
- Experience using computer systems to manage and process information
- Experience efficiently prioritizing tasks, adjusting to frequent changes in workflow, and shifting between multiple duties as needed
- Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 5:15 pm PT schedule
- Occasional local travel
- Authorization to work in the United States (I-9 form and E-Verify)
- No adverse criminal history or background check
