Support Services Worker - BH

Job Summary
Provide front-line support at Belkin House by assisting clients, residents, and staff. Responsibilities include handling the main switchboard, monitoring security systems, processing cash receipts, data entry, conducting rounds for safety, preparing occurrence logs and reports, assisting with inquiries, and supporting program development through trainings and meetings. Requires Grade 12 or equivalent, First Aid/CPR, willingness to complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and ability to lift 30 lbs; must maintain confidentiality and pass background checks. Work schedule is part-time (24 hours/week) on Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; remote work is not indicated for this role and it is performed on-site at the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or the equivalent education, training and experience
- Current First Aid/CPR training
- Willingness for Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
- Proven understanding of addiction issues, mental health issues & homelessness
- Strong interpersonal behavioural skills with ability to maintain confidentiality
- Previous experience in shelter, security and/or hospitality industries
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully
- Experience handling cash transactions
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
