Job Summary
Cover open, vacant, or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations while delivering and picking up freight from customers and shippers. Inspect and report mechanical issues, load the truck efficiently, collect payments, and verify pickup contents against shipping papers. Notify management of any discrepancies or problems and maintain vehicle cleanliness and professional appearance. Perform other related duties as assigned, including operating a manual transmission and handling diverse freight types. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM until route completion, with flexible hours and potential weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
- Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
- Possess good customer service and can work independently
- Travel May be required
