Job Summary
Conduct routine testing, monitoring, and analysis of pulp and paper manufacturing processes and chemical treatment programs. Support wet-end, retention, drainage, strength, deposit control, and water treatment applications to ensure optimal mill performance. Troubleshoot process upsets, quality issues, and equipment performance concerns in partnership with customer personnel. Analyze operating data and provide recommendations to improve productivity, efficiency, and product quality. Manage chemical inventories and support product deliveries to ensure uninterrupted customer operations. Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot chemical feed systems, pumps, instrumentation, and monitoring equipment. Prepare and communicate service reports, performance updates, and improvement recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders. Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure customer satisfaction, business retention, and identification of growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in pulp & paper manufacturing, specialty chemicals, process engineering, paper science, or a related industrial environment
- Valid driver's license
- willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory
Desired Qualifications
- Strong understanding of paper machine operations, process chemistry, or mill support functions
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot pumps, feed systems, instrumentation, and related equipment
- Strong analytical, communication, and customer relationship skills
- Ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment and support multiple priorities
