Job Summary
Support Engineer for IBM AS400 (iSeries) with RPG ILE/CL400 and DB2, working in an integrated delivery model to deliver stable, scalable solutions that modernize legacy systems. Provide technical support during customer upgrades, deployments, and post-production phases; maintain positive customer relationships by resolving issues and managing expectations. Document learnings as knowledge articles, bring automation and reuse ideas for service improvements, understand the SaaS offering and features, and participate in integrating AS400-based systems with modern web technologies. Collaborate with QA, Functional Architects, and Product Owners for successful deliverables; support high-priority issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications include 3-5 years of hands-on AS400 experience, strong communication, ability to work under pressure, multitasking, cross-functional collaboration, flexibility to work hours as needed, and a proactive, independent work style. Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years hands-on experience with IBM AS400 systems (RPGLE/CLLE/DB2)
- Experience supporting AS400-based applications during upgrades, deployments, and post-production phases
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a global environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends during critical times or escalations
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Architects, Product Owners) and to contribute to continuous improvement
- Understanding of SaaS offerings and ability to integrate AS400 systems with modern web technologies
- Experience with React JS and Node JS as frontend technologies
- Experience with Azure or private cloud environments
- Strong initiative, self-motivation, and quick learning ability
- Knowledge article/documentation creation for repeated cases
- Customer-facing technical support and issue resolution
