Job Summary
Oversee the 14th Street Y Afterschool Support & Inclusion Program by communicating with caregivers to develop and update Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) and ensuring their effective implementation by support staff. Coordinate daily with supervisors and program managers to prepare for afternoons, manage social work intern tasks, and provide on-the-ground coaching for challenging behaviors and group dynamics. Support Group Leaders and Teachers with school pickups, inclusive best practices, and restorative conversations while acting as crisis management for elevated concerns. Observe support staff throughout the afternoon and proactively communicate with parents regarding behavioral issues. Assist the Program Manager in leading staff meetings and participate in full-time Youth Programs meetings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Special Needs' Education, or related field
- demonstrated experience in comparable professional setting(s)
- Experience in a supervisory capacity in a childcare setting
- camp environment with disabilities and higher needs children
- Autism spectrum disorder
- ADHD
- OCD
- Knowledge and demonstrated competencies in best practices of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Microsoft Suite
- ability to learn new systems quickly
