Job Summary
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Prepare nutritious meals, assist with eating, and maintain a clean dining environment. Implement individualized care plans tailored to residents' needs, including developmental disabilities, dementia, and autism support. Administer medications in accordance with company policy and training. Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and laundry. Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation. Document client progress through detailed notes on observation, behavior changes, and care provided. Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, families, and external providers. Respond appropriately to emergencies, behavioral incidents, and safety concerns. Uphold all company policies, ethical standards, and state regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
- Physical stamina for long shifts
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes or home & community care settings
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- Additional certifications such as HIPAA training
- Experience with medication administration and care plan implementation
- Familiarity with working within HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- A caring attitude combined with patience, flexibility, and excellent communication skills
