Job Summary
Transport ambulatory residents to dining rooms, therapy areas, and activity programs. Make unoccupied beds, distribute supplemental nourishments, and supply fresh water in resident rooms. Assist in dining room food service by passing trays and preparing meals under licensed staff direction. Conduct informal activities on the nursing unit, clean resident equipment including wheelchairs and beds, and maintain orderly rooms and general areas. Notify therapists of any unusual resident incidents. Work approximately 15-60 days before entering a paid three-week CNA training program consisting of classroom and clinical phases. Elderwood at Williamsville covers certification test costs and onboarding requirements for eligible candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Sixteen (16) years of age
- high school diploma or equivalent
- Employment Certificate/Permit (for 16-17 years of age)
- No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment and misappropriation of property through any current or previous licensing agency
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
