Job Summary
As a Supply Chain Specialist for Structural Products at CMC, you will verify requisitions, source supplies, manage procurement activities for raw materials and MRO, maintain inventory levels aligned with strategic planning, and develop supplier relationships. You’ll evaluate suppliers on quality, cost, delivery, and terms; seek cost reductions; optimize inbound freight; process purchase orders and supplier invoices; ensure timely goods receipts; and contribute to KPIs and spend analyses to support cost-benefit goals. The role requires understanding of S&OP, demand planning, master scheduling, and supplier quality, plus strong negotiation, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration in a team-oriented environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred and 2+ years of purchasing experience are beneficial.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years purchasing experience (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Understanding of sales & operations planning, demand planning, master scheduling, and sequencing
- Understanding of inventory control systems, policies, and procedures
- Understanding of metrics for analysis and benchmarking
- Knowledge of purchasing procedures
- Negotiation skills
- Make accurate and timely decisions
- Self-starter; flexible, customer-focused, professional demeanor
- Must be a team player; able to work closely with others
