Job Summary
Determine strategy for assigned commodities to leverage domestic spend and drive PPV and savings goals. Lead negotiations for suppliers overlapping multiple plants, ensuring contractual compliance and consistent messaging across sites. Communicate strategy to gain buy-in, interact with operations and manufacturing on materials planning, and manage relationships with internal managers, buyers, engineers, and external suppliers. Execute reverse auctions, analyze first pass yields, and identify opportunities to improve 3PL supplier quality, delivery, and lead times. Requires a bachelor's degree, two to five years of business experience with one year in supply chain or purchasing, and CPM/CPIM certification preferred. Fully onsite role with a focus on sustainable motion solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree
- Materials Management or other business major
- Two to Five years overall business experience
- At least one year in supply chain management, purchasing, or planning role(s)
- Demonstration of continuing education in materials management
- Effective planning, organization, and leadership skills
- Outstanding Negotiation Skills
- Effective procurement skills
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical background including experience with tools such as Excel & Access
- Ability to articulate clear vision and convey a sense of urgency
- Ability & willingness to lead and work in a matrix organization with direct & indirect reporting relationships
Desired Qualifications
- Materials Management or other business major preferred
- Advanced business degree beneficial
- CPM and/or CPIM certification preferred
