Job Summary
Sources and procures goods and services from suppliers, initiating Requests for Quotations and Proposals while analyzing pricing. Evaluates supplier quality, reliability, and delivery schedules in conjunction with the quality organization. Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for required products. Identifies opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and manage risk through targeted negotiations. Issues purchase orders, manages their performance, and ensures compliance with public laws, company policies, and import/export regulations. Assesses supplier performance and ensures appropriate documentation is provided to logistics and warehouse organizations for proper receipt recording. Reviews and approves supplier payments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a procurement or buyer position, supply chain management, business and financial planning, contracts administration, and project management or closely related fields
- Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience in a procurement or buyer position, supply chain management, business and financial planning, contracts administration, and project management or closely related fields
- 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP system
- MS Office suite experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- US Citizenship
- 10% of the Time travel
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing suppliers through the following: cost/schedule/quality
- Experience with negotiating terms and conditions in a corporate setting
- Experience with Government purchasing and contracting
- Experience analyzing data to formulate and execute effective negotiation strategies
- Experience in Administering high dollar value Purchase Orders and Subcontracts
- Experience communicating written and verbally in a global supply chain working environment
