Job Summary
Lead and manage all site supply chain functions, including strategic sourcing, procurement, contract development, vendor management, inbound logistics, warehouse operations, and inventory management. Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with operational, cost, and business objectives while leading, mentoring, and developing the on-site supply chain team. Manage supplier and contractor relationships across Phoenix, Tucson, and the western United States to negotiate contracts that maximize value, quality, and service. Ensure the timely availability of critical materials to support continuous mining and plant operations while driving inventory optimization and working capital improvements. Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and finance to support site performance, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Monitor supply chain KPIs and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of progressive supply chain experience
- Proven experience managing purchasing, contracting, logistics, and inventory control within a mining environment
- Strong knowledge of mining supply chains, including MRO materials, capital equipment, contractor services, and regional supplier networks in Arizona (particularly Phoenix and Tucson)
- Demonstrated success leading site-based teams, negotiating complex supply and service contracts, and driving operational improvements
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on strategic execution, cost control, supplier relationships, and operational reliability
- Experience with major mining companies (e.g., copper, gold, or large-scale open-pit operations)
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather
- Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information
- Able to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds periodically
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience), and CPSM, CSCP, or similar certifications are considered assets
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP (preferred), Ellipse, Maximo, JD Edwards, Pronto, or similar platforms
