Job Summary
Drive business priorities for safety, quality, delivery, and cost across assigned product portfolios while managing out-of-flow inventory and MRB processes. Implement built-in quality and sustainability initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework through daily management, stop work, and problem-solving activities. Collaborate with Design Liaison Engineers to manage Material Review Board processes and defect reporting, and lead continuous improvement projects in manufacturing and quality departments. Conduct training for quality processes and maintain Quality Management System procedures, including audits and calibration actions. Work day/1st shift (40 hours weekly) as a Quality Engineering Intern on the METEM team at GE Vernova, contributing to cleaner, more accessible energy solutions through electrical discharge machining, fast hole drilling, or electrochemical machining technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program
- Industrial Engineering major
- Chemical Engineering major
- Electrical Engineering major
- Material Science Engineering major
- Mechanical Engineering major
- U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
