Job Summary
Evaluate daily shortage signals from the ERP purchasing system by assessing local inventory, supplier timelines, and network stock positions to determine fulfillment paths via supplier purchase orders, inter-branch transfers, drop-ship monitoring, or reallocation flags. Generate and release purchase orders against approved suppliers, verify delivery timelines and costs, and resolve discrepancies regarding quantities, pricing, or shipment errors. Initiate inter-branch transfer orders to optimize network inventory availability while prioritizing transfers that minimize total supply chain cost. Monitor active dropship orders to ensure supplier-confirmed dates align with customer needs and escalate delivery risks promptly. Develop and track key performance indicators including stockout rates and fill rates, reporting results to leadership and recommending adjustments to sourcing and fulfillment practices.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience with ERP systems
- 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain operations, inventory management, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred
- Associate's degree with equivalent relevant experience considered
- Experience working within a distribution or wholesale environment preferred
- Prior experience with ERP systems required experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or Infor a plus
- Experience with multi-location or hub-and-spoke distribution networks preferred
