Job Summary
Lam Research Supplier/Vendor QA Engineer 3 in Bangalore drives supplier quality initiatives for Machining, leading supplier audits/qualification, dual sourcing, and NPI, while collaborating across global teams to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. Responsibilities include assessing suppliers for capability, refining manufacturing processes, providing technical support for DFM in NPD, identifying risks, and executing commodity projects like part-regionalization and new supplier qualifications. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or Master's) in Engineering with multi-year experience in production/quality within machining contexts; proficiency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5), MSA, SPC, 8D problem-solving, and strong communication skills. Preferred: additive manufacturing experience and remote-supplier experience; strong MS Office and statistical tools familiarity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, or related) with min 5 to 10 years experience or Master’s degree with min 3 to 5 years in Production/Aerospace/Mechanical/Automobile Engineering; proficiency in supplier assessment, evaluation, qualification, and development; hands-on quality problem solving in metal machining (CNC Turning, VMC 3/4/5 axis); familiarity with 8D, ASME Y14.5, MSA, SPC; strong communication and cross-functional collaboration; experience with NPI, dual sourcing, supplier qualification, DFM for NPD; experience handling remote suppliers; preferred experience in additive manufacturing; MS Office tools and JMP/Minitab; ability to develop best practices and BKMs.
