Job Summary
Supplier Quality Technician at Vertiv ensures purchased parts/materials conform to Vertiv drawings and specifications, performs data analysis for problem solving, and drives speed/urgency in supplier quality issue resolution. Responsibilities include assisting with issues on purchased parts and SCARs, participating in MRB for disposition of rejects, supporting supplier communications related to defects and deviations, performing basic analysis, escalating need for faster supplier responses, supporting development of basic product/process/procedures, collaborating with cross-functional teams on supplier quality issues, assisting in developing inspection plans for Incoming Inspection, and preparing concise verbal and written summaries. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of Electromechanical Assembly and Metal Fabrication/Machining.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience in supplier quality technician role, quality or related field
- Skilled and experienced with reading and understanding engineering drawings, specification, prints, dimensions, and tolerances
- Working knowledge and background of manufacturing processes
- Experienced with Quality Tools including 8-D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto, First Piece, PPAP, SCAR
- Must be PC proficient, with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written in English
- Open minded with people in other functions
- Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures
- Perform all job duties consistent with Vertiv Behaviors and Code of Ethics
- Work independently
- Knowledge of Electromechanical Assembly, Metal Fabrication/Machining, Manufacturing (Preferred)
