Job Summary
Conduct source inspections, first article inspections, and supplier product/process audits at various locations in southwestern Ontario. Perform in-process, final acceptance, and test witnessing inspections on machined parts and assemblies to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 GD&T. Utilize mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify adherence to drawings, purchase orders, and quality plans derived from customer specifications. Execute initial or periodic surveillance audits, including special process capability assessments and calibration audits in accordance with ANSI 2540-1, ISO 17025, or customer requirements. Work approximately 20 hours per week with an average of one to two inspections daily. Ideal candidate possesses seven to ten years of hands-on experience in aerospace, defense, or automotive manufacturing with proficiency in AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards.
Required Qualifications
- practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies
- ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs)
- experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers
- minimum of seven years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing
- proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
- 10+ years of hands on experience performing inspection in welding, fabrication, hydraulic and harness facilities
- 10+ years experience working with First Article Inspection
- 10+ years experience working in an aerospace, defense, or automotive environment, with AS9001 or ISO9001
Desired Qualifications
- experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards
- experience with part approvals (First Article Inspections)
- FAI Experience in accordance to the AS9102 standard
- knowledge of military specifications
