Job Summary
Job responsibilities include leading supplier quality management for electrical and electronic components in the railway segment, driving PPAP/FAI, IPC standard compliance, and audits of wiring harness and PCBAs. Responsible for developing and applying control plans, PFMEA, 8D/7QC tools, and ensuring quality of electrical commodities such as motors, inverters, controllers, and sensors. The role requires extensive experience in part development life cycle, validation of special processes (soldering, coating, wiring, crimping, torquing), and knowledge of IPC standards; IPC certifications (CIS/CIT) are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Electrical & Electronics (BE/BTech)
- 10-13 years experience in related field
- Strong fundamentals of power electronics & wiring harness
- Experience in PPAP, FAI, IPC standards, and control tools (PFMEA, 8D)
- Audit & validation of wiring harness and PCBAs
- Knowledge of IPC standards IPC 600/610/7711/ IPC620
- Experience with Soldering (Reflow/Wave), Coating, Crimping & Torquing
- Exposure to validation of class 2 & class 3 PCBAs and complex wire harnesses
- Experience with validation of commodities like motors, inverters, controllers
- Reading electrical wiring diagrams and PCBA schematics/ Gerber files
- First Article Inspection Process (FAI) and PPAP
- Excellent documentation and control-plan development skills
- Wabtec environment exposure preferred
- CIS/CIT certifications preferred
