Supplier Quality Management Engineer

Job Summary
Own and lead supplier quality initiatives for automotive programs by implementing and guiding APQP processes, coordinating technical reviews, and developing supplier capabilities to meet BorgWarner requirements and launch objectives. Responsible for issuing and tracking quality problems to internal/external customers, conducting supplier PPAP submissions, establishing monthly/quarterly supplier audit plans, and designing containment actions with cross-functional teams when production issues arise. Will drive supplier changes as needed and deliver training on supplier quality to enable performance improvements. Requires knowledge of APQP/PPAP, 8D problem solving, SPC, QS-9000, and strong communication skills to support continuous quality improvements across suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5-7 years of Quality Engineering experience in the automotive industry
- Knowledge of QS-9000 requirements including APQP and PPAP
- Knowledge of SPC
- Effective problem solving and data interpretation
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to develop trip reports and procedures
- Strong communication and customer-focused skills
