Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Summary
Engage with manufacturing plants and distribution facilities to resolve supply disruptions, utilizing quality data to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions via the 8D process. Manage and improve quality for electrical and mechanical commodities including molded plastics, engines, hydraulics, castings, and metal fabrication. Conduct new supplier assessments, perform metrics reviews during supplier visits, and train partners on Tennant's supplier manual expectations. Partner with engineering to assist with problematic designs and evaluate material changes to mitigate risk. Lead open issue meetings to resolve quality concerns on electrical components and use Pareto, PPM, and warranty data to drive continuous improvement projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline
- 3 years' minimum experience in supply and/or quality within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- MS Office, SAP or related ERP experience
- Ability to read / interpret engineering drawings, requirements and specifications
- Experience working with one or more of the following commodities: Molded plastics, engines, hydraulics, castings, or metal fabrication
- Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the business
- Ability to take direction and accept supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering preferred
