Job Summary
Establish and maintain quality expectations for suppliers by defining specifications, inspection criteria, and performance metrics. Monitor supplier performance through data analysis, scorecards, and regular reviews to track PPM, yield, and defect trends. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action activities using tools like 8D, CAPA, and physical failure analysis to resolve quality issues. Translate engineering and regulatory requirements into actionable flow-downs for suppliers, ensuring compliance with technical documentation and standards. Oversee non-conforming material management, facilitate Material Review Board activities, and drive corrective actions to eliminate recurrence. Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes and technologies to assess capacity and recommend improvement strategies. Plan and execute supplier audits focused on quality systems and process controls, tracking findings and verifying corrective action implementation. Collaborate with design engineering during new product introduction to ensure manufacturability and supplier readiness through PPAP and FAI validation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years experience in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or supply chain engineering
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, 8D, PPAP)
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed
- Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments
- Ability to move throughout production and supplier facilities
- Ability to use standard computer and office equipment
- Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds
- US Person status (US citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual granted asylum or refugee status)
- Work authorization for E-Verify program
