Job Summary
Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for Potential Supplier Audits (PSAs), closing audit shortfalls, and managing the APQP process to support program launches. Develop and continually improve Engineering Feasibility documents including lessons learned by commodity/component. Support supply crisis situations related to capacity and quality; improve supplier performance. Activities include APQP leadership, 8D problem solving with suppliers, review of process documentation, supplier development (prototype to production), part readiness follow-up, safe/red launches, and applying lessons learned to engineering feasibilities. Travel is required as needed. Must interpret regulatory quality documents and participate in APQP meetings, while maintaining effective communication with internal and external customers and delivering on supplier scorecards and quality indicators.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related engineering experience is required
- Five to seven years of related experience
- Experience with risk analysis and FMEA for automotive products
- Experience in writing and executing engineering test protocols
- Proficiency with MS Office and CAD applications
- Familiar with IATF/TS16949 standards
- Ability to lead and coordinate project teams
- Experience in gauging methods, calibration, and gauge R&R's
- Ability to communicate with senior management and clients
