Job Summary
Conduct supplier qualification, audits, and periodic surveillance activities to ensure products meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain risk-based receiving inspection and sampling systems based on supplier performance and product criticality. Collect and analyze quality data to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and containment for nonconformances. Review and approve supplier manufacturing documentation including control plans, PPAP, and capability studies. Support new supplier introductions and third-party audits while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Requires 2+ years of experience in heavy industrial manufacturing with 10% travel to supplier facilities.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Engineer in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements, supplier quality systems, inspection methods, risk assessment, and corrective action processes
- Trained ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent internal auditor
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop risk-based inspection strategies
- Effective communication with suppliers and internal teams
- BA or BS degree in Quality, Mechanical engineering, Manufacturing engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field
- Experience with gears, castings, forgings, machining, and heat treatment processes
- Familiarity of nondestructive test (NDT) methods: FPI, MPI, LP, RT and VT
- Will require travel to supplier facilities approximately 10% of the time
- Manufacturing environments may require use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes

Desired Qualifications
- Experience auditing suppliers to ISO 9001:2015 and/or equivalent standards
- Proficiency in establishing risk-based receiving and dock-to-stock inspection systems
- Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering print interpretation
- Experience with statistical tools and software (e.g., Minitab)
- Lean manufacturing and structured problem-solving experience (5-Why, 8D, Fishbone)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP)
