Job Summary
Conduct supplier audits and manage new product introductions, including APQP and PPAP approvals, to qualify and maintain supplier relationships. Deploy the Astemo Supplier Quality Manual, train suppliers on IATF 16949/VDA 6.3 standards, and monitor quality KPIs to drive performance improvements. Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to manage corrective and preventive actions, ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards. This fixed-term role supports procurement and production at the Bolton plant, focusing on advanced mobility solutions like engine control units and xEV inverters.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards, particularly IATF 16949, and their practical application
- Proficient in APQP methodologies and core quality tools, including Control Plans, Process Flow, FMEA, SPC, MSA (R&R), and PPAP
- Experienced in supplier quality management, including supplier audits and supplier development activities
- Skilled in applying structured quality methods to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and support robust product and process quality
- HNC / HND Electrical / Mechanical Engineering as a minimum
- Qualified IATF/VDA 6.3 auditor
- 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally gained within automotive
