Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Summary
Ensure that area of responsibility follows IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and International Operating System (YF IOS) requirements. Initiate and lead Management Quality Review processes for problematic suppliers while managing incoming inspection, containment activities, and nonconforming areas. Document and manage supplier issues in the company's system and verify supplier yearly validation requirements. Continually work with suppliers to improve performance using problem-solving techniques and statistical methods, assuring corrective and preventive action plans are developed and effective. Interact routinely with production, engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to improve component quality, and communicate plant performance goals with direct reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Level Degree
- Area of Study: Manufacturing Quality or similar
- 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience in quality engineering, supplier quality or manufacturing engineering
- 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces
Desired Qualifications
- Familiar with Engineering prints
- Experience with basic metrology tools, callipers, micrometres, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- TS-16949 knowledge
- Basic supervisor skills and experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt
