Job Summary
Supplier Development Engineer responsible for assessing supplier quality, conducting tests on incoming supplies, developing inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanisms; generating reports on supplier quality and guiding suppliers to reduce defect rates; researching potential vendors, conducting supplier quality control audits, and supporting process improvements and quality assurance plans. Requires foundry/machining management experience for metallic/non-metallic drivetrain products, 5-10 years manufacturing experience, and proficiency in data analytics with Power BI. Knowledge of PPAP elements, submissions, and objectives is expected. Travel up to 40%. The primary onsite locations are East Peoria, IL or Decatur, IL. Visa sponsorship and relocation are not available.
Required Qualifications
- Foundry or machining management experience for metallic/non-metallic Drivetrain products required.
- 5-10 years foundry, machining, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Moderate understanding of data analytics for proactively identifying areas within supplier processes to apply PCA's and improve performance and metrics.
- Working knowledge of Power BI development to maintain tools designed to manage supplier quality by facility.
- Working knowledge in data analytics.
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements, submissions, and objectives; ability to determine whether a supplier can manufacture products that meet the quality requirements and standards of their customers.
