Job Summary
Conduct deep technical and process capability assessments for high-risk suppliers to evaluate performance, identify gaps, and implement sustainable mitigation strategies. Drive resolution of critical supplier issues through root cause analysis while leading initiatives to shift quality ownership by integrating first-time-right principles into APQP and design transfer activities. Monitor supplier maturity progression, assess QMS effectiveness, and translate findings into prioritized improvement roadmaps for sourcing strategies. Serve as a technical subject matter expert to coach suppliers on quality tools and methodologies, promoting standardized practices across teams. Lead complex supplier development programs by defining objectives, tracking KPIs, and removing barriers to ensure measurable results while maintaining regulatory and QMS knowledge. Work in-person at least three days per week with up to 50% travel to supplier sites.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Safety Engineering, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier quality and development within regulated environments
- Strong understanding of medical device QMS, supplier controls, and regulatory expectations
- Ability to assess complex manufacturing and quality processes and identify risk-based improvement opportunities
- Knowledge of various special processes
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering science, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
