Job Summary
Develop commodity strategies, negotiate supplier agreements, and manage the supply base structure for Applied Materials. Direct new supplier introductions and disengagements while driving resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery, or lead-time. Approve Supplier Performance Improvement Plans, conduct formal performance reviews, and present high-level cost reduction opportunities. Act as a technical expert to anticipate business and regulatory issues, recommending product or process improvements. Lead complex projects with notable risk and deliver strategic solutions impacting resource allocation. Communicate complex ideas to senior levels to persuade stakeholders on supply chain adoption.
Required Qualifications
- Develops, aligns and implements commodity strategies
- Negotiates and manages the maintenance of agreements with suppliers
- Engages with the PLC process
- Directs new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements
- Drives resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time
- Engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain
- Develops and presents high level cost reduction opportunities
- Approves/final authority, delivers and manages Supplier Performance Improvement Plans
- Drives formal supplier performance reviews
- Regarded as the technical expert in their particular field
- Demonstrates in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline
- Broad knowledge of other disciplines within the function
- Anticipates business and regulatory issues
- Recommends product, process or service improvements
- Leads projects with notable risk and complexity
