Job Summary
Sterile Processing Technician II at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital (Houston, TX) responsible for decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established standards. Supports clinical teams in an indirect patient care role, requiring attention to detail, technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Requires completion of a Central Service Technology course or equivalent, within one year CRCST/CSPDT/CBSPD/CRM certification, and at least 1 year of Central Sterile Processing experience. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Central Service Technology Course or equivalent experience
- Must hold or obtain within one year: CRCST, CSPDT, CBSPD, or CRM certification
- Minimum of 1 year Central Sterile Processing experience
- Bilingual skills preferred
- PC proficiency appropriate to job requirements
- Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to interpret gauges and monitor equipment
