Job Summary
Administer medical gases, medications, and aerosols for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes while performing patient assessments and interpreting arterial blood gases, pulmonary function tests, and chest x-rays. Provide expert respiratory advice to physicians, manage time effectively, and document treatment accurately. Lead advanced patient education, mentor RCP I and II staff, and participate in departmental operations to ensure safe, efficient care. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing required. Bachelor's degree preferred with RRT certification and 3+ years of ICU experience.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License or Temporary Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment
- Recognize alphanumeric characters
- Distinguish colors
- Observe physical characteristics
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years ICU experience
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Pediatric experience
- Two (2) of the following: ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPFT, RPFT, RPSGT, Asthma Certified Educator, NRP Instructor, ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor, or BLS Instructor
- 1-3 years RCP II experience
- 3-10 years RCP III experience
- 10+ years RCP IV experience
- Two (2) years of critical care experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills
