Job Summary
Monitor student safety during recess and lunch, distributing food, managing dismissals, and addressing basic health concerns. Assist classroom teachers with instructional materials, manage daily attendance records, and contact families regarding absences or tardies. Support the educational team to enhance student learning and promote overall school efficiency while maintaining confidentiality of student records. Work 4 hours daily for 175 contract days under the supervision of the building principal.
Required Qualifications
- AA Degree or BA degree, or Para certification
- Ability to use office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children preferred but not required
- Post-secondary coursework in educational field preferred but not required
- Initiative to be a self-starter
- Intuitive to the needs of the student
- Ability to work well with classroom teacher, support staff, administrators, AEA and parents of student as part of an educational team
- Ability to be flexible in assignments given
- Ability to use good judgment when unexpected problems arise
