Job Summary
Supervisory Dietitian (Food Operations) at the Salisbury VA Medical Center leads a Food Operations team delivering safe, high-quality meal services to Veterans. Responsibilities include supervising and evaluating food operations staff, coordinating food service policies with clinical teams, ensuring compliance with nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations (including HACCP), guiding continuous improvement and quality assurance projects, overseeing menu planning to meet nutritional and budget requirements, and leading emergency planning to meet regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission). Must be a U.S. citizen with an RDN or RD credential and strong supervisory/food operations experience, plus excellent communication and leadership abilities. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm with occasional holiday/weekend coverage; requirements include a background check and flu vaccination.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen, RDN or RD credential required
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) - Must be registered with the CDR
- Proven supervisory and food operations experience
