Job Summary

Coordinate excess of loss and quota share cessions and premium adjustments across multiple lines of business, including detailed code block allocations and monthly journal entries. Calculate premium adjustments, coordinate settlements with Reinsurance Collections, and perform reviews for SOX compliance. Support responses to reinsurer inquiries through research and analysis, while processing assumed reinsurance programs based on SOA and reviewing Schedule F Part 3 balances. Manage monthly close deadlines for external excess of loss and quota share programs with direct engagement on an extensive offshore platform. For positions in New Jersey, the base salary range is $89,000-$112,000, with bonus eligibility. This role reports to the Assistant Director, External Reinsurance, within AIG's Reinsurance Controllership team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience leading teams in a controller capacity
  • Experience for a public P&C insurance company
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance operations
  • Strong insurance-technical accounting expertise
  • Industry business acumen
  • Clear understanding and awareness of global macroeconomic and other relevant factors impacting the business that manifest in financial results
  • Experienced in leveraging a combination of onshore and offshore management and staff resources on a global basis
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals across Finance and operational disciplines
  • Commercially oriented
  • Ability to carry credibility with a business unit and broader Finance organization
  • Systems-technical acumen
