Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate welders, material handlers, and machine operators while interpreting blueprints to assign duties and plan material flow. Direct workers in adjusting equipment for repairs, monitor productivity against plant standards, and maintain time records. Resolve safety problems, complete paperwork, and lead nonconformance investigations to support Hunter Excellence initiatives. Assist with recruitment, establish work procedures to meet schedules, and contribute to cost control efforts. This role requires an AWS Certified Welder and 5 years of supervisory experience, with a 2nd shift schedule in Durant, MS.
Required Qualifications
- AWS Certified Welder
- 5 years demonstrated manufacturing supervisory experience OR 2+ years Group Leader experience in a related industry
- Knows MIG welding process for mild and stainless steel
- Possesses a high level of mechanical and ironwork aptitude
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Has familiarity with ISO 9000 standards
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
- Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Desired Qualifications
- An undergraduate or associate's degree in engineering or a related technical field
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement
