Job Summary
Direct and supervise shipping/receiving personnel to ensure timely shipments, accurate product receipt, and a safe working environment. Coordinate outbound shipments based on inventory and order promise dates, while auditing unsafe behaviors, reporting incidents, and enforcing safety policies. Ensure raw materials are received and placed in inventory, maintain organized warehouse materials, and facilitate continuous improvement activities. Confer with plant personnel to review operating reports for schedule changes, maintain plant floor visibility, and conduct annual performance reviews. Address quality issues with internal teams and external customers. This role requires regular travel between two locations 10 miles apart and availability outside normal hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- 2 years of experience in formal leadership position
- 5% - 10% travel
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
- Ability to handle the stress of working with others
- Ability to be available outside of normal work hours
- Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop others
- Ability to lead by example
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
- Knowledge of the processes, tools, and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
- Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods
- Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of the employees, environment and site
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- 2 years of experience in plastics or fabrication environment
