Job Summary
Oversee Vermeer horizontal/directional drill rigs, plows, and DCI F-5 locating equipment for major telecommunications infrastructure projects. Lead a team of workers effectively to ensure the growth and protection of Charter's network while maintaining efficient production through direct contact with the manager. Read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for project clearance codes, and communicate clearly with employees, customers, and suppliers. Travel 80% of the time to complete projects at different sites.
Required Qualifications
- Drilling/locating experience of at least three years
- underground utility construction experience of at least three years
- telecommunication installation construction experience of at least three years
- Clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of city, county, and state clearance codes
- able to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for project
- Able to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications
- Able to read and understand blueprints
- able to communicate in a clear, straight-forward, professional manner
- Strong communication
- able to motivate others
- excellent leadership skills
- Valid driver's license
- you'll travel 80% of the time to complete projects at different sites
Desired Qualifications
- Horizontal drill experience of at least five years
- practical working experience with underground construction and equipment for both conduit and fiber installation
- OSHA safety certifications
- operator qualifications
- Class A CDL
