Job Summary
Oversee delivery of maintenance and minor project works across Transpower substations and associated assets, balancing field supervision with planning, scheduling, and reporting. Lead a team of approximately 16-17 electricians and field personnel, conducting site visits, inspections, and quality assurance activities to ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance. Coordinate resources across multiple work programmes and locations while driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting workforce capability development through skills supervision and technical guidance. This role requires an organised leader with current EWRB registration and strong high voltage electrical experience, reporting to the Operations Manager. Participation in an on-call roster is required, with Bunnythorpe rotations occurring approximately 1 in 5 to 1 in 6 weeks and Hawke's Bay rotations roughly 1 in 3 weeks. Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required depending on project needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current EWRB registration
- Strong electrical industry experience
- Experience working in substations, utilities, industrial, commercial, or heavy electrical sectors
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Excellent planning, scheduling and organisational skills
- Strong computer literacy and reporting capability
- A commitment to safety leadership and quality outcomes
- The ability to think outside the box and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Flexibility to travel when required
- Participation in an on-call roster
- Occasional travel and overnight stays
