Job Summary
Supervise and train track employees on an assigned territory; inspect all assigned track (company and customer-owned) per federal requirements, identify abnormalities, and determine corrective actions to protect train movements; assume manager duties on alternate weekends/holidays when the manager is absent; generate inspection record reports and assist with correspondence, material requisitions, payroll approval, procurement, and credit-card reviews; assist in planning and organizing work within an authorized budget; FRA certification for track/bridge inspection and RWIC qualification required; strong planning, organizational, communication, decision-making, and people-development skills; potential career path toward Track Supervisor; outdoor/field environment with travel 0-2 days per month; shift includes weekends and on-call requirements.
Required Qualifications
- FRA certification for track/bridge inspection
- Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) qualification
- Knowledge of Norfolk Southern Safety and Operating Rules
- Education: Associate's Degree (Engineering)
