Job Summary
Lead supervision of Track Geometry Group test-car operations to acquire and evaluate track geometry and rail wear data using high-speed, automated measurement vehicles. Responsibilities include reinforcing safety and reliability objectives, coordinating testing with Engineering and Transportation supervision, ensuring equipment readiness and stocking of supplies, providing data processing and reporting, and educating staff on defect types and measurement criteria. Requires experience with rail-inspection equipment and safety procedures; AS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred or 2-4 years rail-industry experience; role involves significant travel (up to 100%) and a mix of office/field work.
Required Qualifications
- AS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred but not required, or 2-4 years relevant technical experience in rail industry
- Operation of rail-bound and hi-rail equipment
- Inspection of track and structures for compliance with NS and FRA track safety standards
- Use of Lock-Out/Tag-Out, RWP/Blue-Flag and similar safety procedures to perform routine electrical and mechanical systems maintenance
