Job Summary
Supervisor Sterile Processing role at Petaluma Valley Hospital. Full-time, 8-hour Day Shifts. Leads the Sterile Processing Department (SPD), directing cleaning, sterilization, and processing of surgical instrument trays and the surgical case cart system across Surgical Services, multiple procedure suites, and nearby patient care areas. Supervises SPD staff and reports to the Area Manager of Sterile Processing. Requires leadership capabilities and adherence to scope of practice for unlicensed practitioners. Qualifications include an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in sterile processing, national certifications in Sterile Processing/Endoscope reprocessing or related areas, and 3 years of sterile processing/technician experience with at least 1 year of progressive management in a relevant setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Experience related to sterile processing and surgical services
- National Certification in one of the following: Ambulatory Surgery Sterile Processing Technician, Endoscope Reprocessor, Flexible Endoscope Reprocessors, Healthcare Leader, Instrument Specialist, Central Service Technician, Surgical Instrument Specialist, Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, Sterile Processing Manager, Sterile Processing Leadership
- 3 years of experience as a sterile processing technician or surgical technician/technologist or related leadership experience
- 1 year progressively responsible managerial experience in decontamination, sterilization and processing in an acute care or ambulatory surgical setting or related surgical operations managerial experience
