Job Summary
Sell firearms, fishing, archery, and camping merchandise while verifying customer background checks and utilizing ATF, FBI, and State systems for compliance. Conduct performance reviews, train new hires, and coach staff on selling techniques and merchandising standards. Manage department inventory, receive and display products, and perform general floor maintenance and housekeeping. Work closely with management to meet sales objectives and staffing needs, handling routine telephone inquiries and resolving difficult customer service issues. Must be willing to work any retail shift, stand for the majority of the time, and lift up to 75 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- 18+ years of age
- Sales and firearms experience
- Computer skills
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues
- Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers
- Ability to work as a team
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check
- Must be willing to work any retail shift
- Must be able to complete training courses and pass certification tests provided by D&B Supply
- Must be able to work majority of shift standing
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to climb, reach, bend, stoop and crawl
- Must be able to physically participate in resets, remodels and reconstruction projects
Desired Qualifications
- Hunting, fishing, camping, shooting and general outdoors experience
- Knowledge of how to mount, level, and boresight firearms
- Excellent customer service and ability to build strong customer relationships and follow through
- Rigorous attention to detail
- College degree
