Supervisor, Specialty Testing

Job Summary
Direct and supervise the daily production and performance of the Specialty Testing Team, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 and POLARIS Quality System standards. Monitor quality and safety activities, audit production for accuracy, and manage inventory of consumable materials while overseeing equipment calibration and maintenance. Plan schedules and work flow to meet production timelines, review daily reports and QC documentation, and facilitate a team environment through staff training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions. Ensure all personnel adhere to safety procedures and hazardous waste protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline
- Prior supervisor experience
- Experience operating in a laboratory environment
- Experience in a production environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff
- Ability to understand and adhere to safety procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task
- Computer literate
- Basic mathematics skills
- Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Detail oriented
- Ability to distinguish colors and odors
- Ability to work with potential exposure to hazardous petroleum or chemical products
