Job Summary
Supervisor Social Work leads and supervises social work services at Rhode Island Hospital as part of Brown University Health. The role performs the functions of a Social Worker (LSW) and provides clinical supervision to social work staff and interns, coordinates coverage and schedules, communicates policies and procedures, contributes to program development and administrative management, and ensures compliance with policies and quality assurance activities. Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, current LICSW, and at least four years of clinical experience with supervisory experience; supervises approximately 10 staff in the clinical service area and works a day shift (M-F 8a–4:30p) in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited graduate school
- Current LICSW from State of Rhode Island required
- Administrative and supervisory skills necessary to address these functions in the department or assigned clinical area
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment
- Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to supervise and coordinate social work activities in the clinical area
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and to develop or administer social work services with consideration of stages of human development and cultural patterns
- Analytical skills necessary to evaluate patients, programs and procedures
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience preferably in a health or mental health setting with an emphasis on populations to be served in the assigned area
- Experience in supervision, program development or administration required
