Job Summary
Shipping Supervisor responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations at a Pennsylvania manufacturing facility, coordinating outbound shipments of finished mattress products, supervising shipping staff, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and on-time delivery, and maintaining compliance with safety and DOT regulations while driving improvements in shipping efficiency and reducing errors. Key duties include supervising the shipping team (scheduling, training, performance management), ensuring orders are picked, staged, and shipped accurately, coordinating with production/warehouse/transportation to meet deadlines, verifying documents (bills of lading, packing slips, shipping manifests), monitoring inventory flow, maintaining organized staging areas, and reporting shipping performance metrics to operations leadership; requires experience in high-volume manufacturing logistics, knowledge of WMS/ERP systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics supervision within a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing teams in a high-volume production or distribution setting
- Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, freight carriers, and documentation
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
