Job Summary
Ensure shifts are sufficiently staffed and supervise employees in the absence of the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Supervisor Lead. Maintain the ice surface using edgers and correct resurfacing techniques, while evaluating building maintenance and repairs daily with the Maintenance Supervisor. Oversee rental skates, boots, and blade replacements; fill vending machines; and assist with event operations, private rentals, and parties. Manage close-outs, bank deposits, safe funds, and inventory for keys and radios. Enforce customer service standards, emergency procedures, and facility security, including monitoring cameras and locking the facility at day's end. Work 2/3rds of each month, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to wear SSE assigned uniform during all shifts
- Ability to work various shifts, weekends, possibly holidays, and late nights
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a broad spectrum of key contacts including employees, free lance instructors, user groups, parents, coaches, professional associate athletes, and the community the at large
- Good oral and written communication skills
- One year of relevant experience
- Must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job that are physically demanding
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in a cold environment
- Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
- Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
- Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation
- Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
- Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
- Must be available to work 2/3rds of each month. Including evenings and weekends with some holidays

- May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations
