Job Summary
Supervise the Security Operations Center staff and Visitor Center subcontracted personnel on a day-to-day basis, ensuring patrols and security checks are performed while maintaining the integrity of all safety and security processes. Act as a liaison to the Operations Duty Manager for crisis response and shift-to-shift safety matters, providing guidance on SOPs, regulations, and best practices. Conduct required audits, risk assessments, and internal safety reviews to manage hazards and generate control reports based on audit findings. Investigate badge issues, assist law enforcement with CCTV footage, and respond to accidents and incidents across airside, terminal, and landside functions. Oversee Safety & Security contracts for landside traffic, screening, and building security while liaising with vendors and JFKIAT departments. Verify guidelines for airlines, tenants, and the traveling public, analyze incident data and trends, and communicate situational awareness to management. This role requires rotating shifts, holidays, and overnights, with a salary range of $62,000 - $64,000.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of aviation specific security experience
- Three years of experience in a security supervisory role
- Bachelor's degree in criminal science or aviation
- One (1) year of directly related professional experience
- AAAE Security ACE certification
- PANYNJ airside driver qualification (DR-1 designation)
- SOC Training curriculum completion
- Pass a criminal background check
- Obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, including overnights
- Hold REAL identification to obtain a Port Authority badge and US Customs and Border Protection Seal
- Ability to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, walk, crouch, kneel, and jump
- Ability to travel from floor to floor
- Ability to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- Three years of aviation specific security experience OR three years of experience in a security supervisory role preferred
- Bachelor's degree in criminal science or aviation strongly preferred
- One (1) year of directly related professional experience may substitute for one (1) year of the required education up to (4) years

- Federal laws, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) rules and regulations
