Job Summary
Supervises nursing staff on telemetry within the unit, coordinates and delegates care provided by licensed nurses and patient care technicians, serves as a resource for patient care assessment, planning, and evaluation of nursing interventions, and collaborates with unit leadership to evaluate staff performance. Administers medications, starts IVs, and discharges patients, Organizes, plans, and provides coordinated patient care within the unit; promotes adherence to nursing protocols and clinical practice guidelines; manages scheduling and staffing, and supports daily clinical operations. Requires RN license, BLS, and typically a nursing degree (BSN/ASN preferred).
Required Qualifications
- Education Required – Registered nurse diploma
- Preferred – Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Experience Required – 1 year of relevant experience as a registered nurse OR 2 years of experience as an LPN in an acute care setting
- Preferred – 2 years of relevant experience as a registered nurse
- Certifications Required – Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
