Job Summary
Lead and direct technical personnel and equipment for Adult Cardiopulmonary services, providing respiratory care, diagnostic testing, and patient education to newborns through older adults. Perform arterial punctures for blood gas analysis and operate mechanical ventilators, bi-level ventilation equipment, and peak flow meters while ensuring quality control of ABG analyzers. Treat patients whose cardiac or pulmonary systems are compromised and assist with day-to-day department operations, escalating extraordinary issues to the Manager or Medical Director. Maintain current State Respiratory Care Practitioner license, RRT certification, and active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP credentials.
Required Qualifications
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA or ARC
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate
- Five (5) years of acute or subacute respiratory care experience as respiratory care practitioner
Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree
- At least one (1) year of experience in NICU
