Job Summary
Provide supervision to assigned Relational Security staff, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures to establish a supportive presence at healthcare sites. Maintain security of persons and property while proactively managing potential violence and aggression within the setting. Lead a Relational Security Team that promotes trauma-informed interventions and safety prevention services aligned with Indigenous cultural safety and diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments. Complete a Criminal Records Review Check and successfully finish the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum and Advanced Security Training.
Required Qualifications
- Current BC Security Guard License
- OFA Level II Certification
- Certification of Training Completion in Advanced Security Training
- Three years' recent related experience
- One year in a supervisor capacity
- Successful completion of the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Ability to supervise
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
