Job Summary
Supervisor, Quality leads and develops the quality organization at a manufacturing site, coordinating a team of quality professionals to ensure quality requirements, performance goals, and improvement objectives are achieved. The role emphasizes performance management, development of direct reports, and adherence to QMS/EMS, FDA regulations, ISO standards, and GMP guidelines. Responsibilities include supervising quality engineers/technicians, reviewing and approving engineering changes and nonconformance reports, driving CAPA and root-cause analyses, establishing team objectives and development plans, supporting internal and external quality audits, and contributing to process improvements and risk-based quality control. Skills emphasized include leadership, cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, problem solving, and strong written and verbal communication.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum education: bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical field
- Minimum experience: 3 years
- Specialized knowledge with respect to quality system regulations and standards important to the role (EU MDR, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, GMP 21 CFR 820, Good Documentation Practices)
- Experience leading a quality team or function (quality engineers/technicians)
- Experience with CAPA, NCRs, engineering change control, quality audits
- Strong data analysis and root cause investigation skills
- Ability to lead, communicate effectively, and work cross-functionally
- Knowledge of QMS/EMS, regulatory requirements, and site quality metrics
